Animal Blessing Service

Sunday 3rd October 2010

Animal Blessing Service at the Halifax Minster - Causey Hall - Causeway - HX1 1QL

Sunday 2nd October 2011 at 2.30pm

Join us for our fifth blessing service which is open to all animals and is a fun event for the whole family.

The service includes readings and hymns that the dogs normally help us to sing along to!

Please note: all dogs must be on a lead, cats and small animals should be in a suitable

carrier for their own safety. Thank you.

This service marks the start of our 30th Anniversary Celebrations and it is also an event which forms part of World Animal Day 4th October 2011. Click here for more information. Below outlines the mission statement for World Animal Day but this also covers part of the aims of our Animal Blessing Service.

MISSION STATEMENT - WORLD ANIMAL DAY

  • To celebrate animal life in all its forms
  • To celebrate humankind's relationship with the animal kingdom
  • To acknowledge the diverse roles that animals play in our lives - from being our companions, supporting and helping us, to bringing a sense of wonder into our lives
  • To acknowledge and be thankful for the way in which animals enrich our lives
